October 21st was a big day for MX team. On August we received an invitation to Riga Fashion week, so all these months we worked really hard to create a magnificent and unique collection. One that would draw strong lines in MX characteristics for our debut at RFW. After months of hard work, we finally did it! So how did it go?
Everything started with a blank page. Our designer Megija started to create many beautiful sketches of the new designs. We wanted to create clothing that makes you feel special even on boring and casual days. Clothing that could easily be transformed from office wear to classy event or edgy party. The theme of course was the colour black. Through the black we wanted to tell a story. A story about shapes and silhouettes. About how strong and bold can interact with soft and elegant. How masculinity blends with femininity.
But we couldn’t tell a good story without the best materials. Megija went to Paris for a week to discover different kinds of fabrics, textures and materials. We tested different fabric samples, watched how they look, how they feel, how they move and how they live. We chose best of the best. Right now you can see them in our faux fur coat PANTHER, that makes everyone question if it’s really fake. You can see the beautiful velvet in our mini VELVET dress, that makes you feel like million dollars. You can feel the warmth and softness of our wool coat FATALE. All these fabrics are a part of the story. They speak for themselves. They tell you a story.
These months we also worked on another project with our dear friend Dace and her Charli Morje. Dace offered us a journey in the world of scents and parfume. She offered to create our own- signature MX scent. As soon as we saw the message, we said YES! She brought us beautiful box full of 70 different scents. We tested them for a few days and chose our favourites. Then Dace did her magic and created a unique scent for Studio MX. Together we created beautiful label and now… MX scent is available for sale! When the big day came, we were prepared, even though we didn’t know what to expect. Full day in a big rush- doing million jobs at once, meeting many models, remembering their outfits, managing their every move. It was crazy! But when the first model stepped her foot on the runway, it felt like the world went quiet. There was all of our hard work- now presented to our dear guests! Of course after few minutes, we had to rush to change the looks for some models, but the feeling- it was magical.
While creating the new collection, we had a great chance to meet amazing, creative and beautiful souls. People who supported us, vistied to try on our garments & couldn’t wait to wear them to our show. We saw the passion and love they have towards MX and it was all we needed to keep going.
